' Special tp Ths Tribune. EUREKA, June 21. That the Eureka Bullion property in tho Tintic district will be the next shipper In that section and one of the big minra of the camp ! is the unanimous opinion of a party of i Urovo and Eureka mining men who to-' to-' day were permitted to make an inspec tion of the level on which work has been j Kolng on for some time. In this party were the following: W. Lester Manjiitn, ,' William Knight, Thomas Ficrpont, Hugh "j Trcnholm, J. W. Dangerfleld, C. E. Ilnlsh, ; If. C. Hicks, August Uestlcmeyer, N. C. .j Hicks, John Bestlemeyer and A. C. Acord, F superintendent of the Bullion. , Policy of Operators Changes. r Ho many conflicting stories regarding: 1 this property have been in circulation dur- ' ing the past few weeks that the manage ment decided to open the workings to ' this representative hodv of men. The ! representatives of tho Knight Interesrs t who were In the party were most tn- 1 tinislastlo and declared 'that Eureka Bul- j lion Is now a mine and it is now Impossi ble to lose the ore which has been opened at such depth. Approximately fifteen tons of good ore were piled up in the ii drift when the party visited the mine, i t Assays of this pile of ore show that av-t av-t erage samples carry 20 per cent load, from fifty to sixty ounces of silver and I $2 In gold. Some samples will show a higher silver content, it is said. ' Ore From Two Points. The ore already mined has been taken from two different points In the drift on the 800-foot level. At one point the ore was taken from a raise which is now up about ten or twelve feet, with six feet of commercial ore showing. Ore was also taken from tho crosscut in the main drift, a short distance from the raise, where there Is two or threo feet of ore of the same character. The best ore dips away from the shaft, but Manager Bestlemeyer has decided to continue work In the drift until the foot-wail foot-wail Is reached, which ho estimates is approximately twenty feet distant. Then ho will sink in order to connect again with the oro, as he expects his largest deposits at or near the footwall. Stope May Be Started. The ore exposed in the raise may possibly pos-sibly make a stopo of liberal dimensions, dimen-sions, but if litv does 'not, there will be a chance for something better by sinking. sink-ing. Those familiar with the Tintic history state that there never has been a time when such a showing of ore failed to make a permanent mine. While, in the Tintic district Messrs Knight. Magnum and Trenholm made a trip over the Big Hill ground and selected a point for the new shaft. |
