Show District summer school begins Although the regular public school session is over for another year, summer school is geared up for its season. The six high schools all offer about a half dozen classes, ranging from English and math make-up to weight training, biology and social studies courses. All of the junior high schools-including new Syracuse Junior-will provide at least one offering. Two elementaries and Chapter I. will also operate programs. . Most classes start June 2 but weight training, for instance, starts July 14. Classes last from five days for a volleyball camp at Bountiful High to 30 days for several others. Tuition ranges from $5 an hour for Chapter I tutoring to $35 for summer biology, offered at all high schools but Viewmont. Stewart Elementary will offer math and reading for 16 days starting June 2. Tuition is $15. At South Weber Elementary the same course will begin one week later but run for 24 days. Cost is $35. Further information is available by calling your local school. |
