Show Two more file for school board seats FARM1NGTON - Two more candidates, one of them an incumbent, have filed for seats on the Davis County Board of Education. Incumbent Dee R. Forbes, of Layton. will seek re-election in Precinct 4; and Laura Mitchell, of Clinton, will face Robert L. (Bob) Thurgood, of Syracuse, in a battle for a seat in Precinct 5. Incumbent Bruce G. Parry, in Precinct 4, said he will not seek re-election to the Davis School Board because he has filed for a seat in the Utah Legislature. School board filings are non-partisan and interested persons have until 5 p.m. on June 25 to file in the County Clerk's Office, Davis County Courthouse in Farmington. If more than two candidates file for any one school board seat, names will be placed on the October Primary Election ballot to be narrowed to two finalists for the General Election in November. Precinct 4 encompasses Layton, South Weber and a part of south Clearfield. Precinct 5 covers the remainder of Clearfield, Syracuse, West Point, Sunset and Clinton. |
