Show Local track medal winners javelin. Many others qualified for the state meet, which is what it's all about. Congratulations on a fine season to all the local track athletes. OGDEN-Several athletes from south Davis County medaled recently re-cently during the state 4-A track meet at Weber State. Medals were given for the first six places in each event. Medalists in boys competition were Carl Ward of Woods Cross, first in the 100, 200 and 400 meters; Matt Roat of Woods Cross, first in 1600 and second in 3200; Dave Brannan of Woods Cross, first in pole vault; Matt Bombard of Bountiful, Boun-tiful, fifth in 100; Greg Sharp of Viewm nt, sixth in the 200; and Shawn Frasier of Woods Cross, sixth in the shotput. In addition, the Bountiful 400-meter 400-meter relay team of Joe Covey, Matt Bombard, Mike Cutler and Brad Chatlin took third, while themedley team of Bombard, Chatlin, Chat-lin, Darren Dean and Steve Jones took sixth. Woods Cross finished fifth in the medley, with a team of Ward, Eric Waters, Roat and Chad Smith. 1 Local girls weren't quite as for-ftunate, for-ftunate, although two Woods Cross girls did win medals.
