Show SBpennaket holds Olympics By JOYCE WINTERS KAYSVILLE - Dick Bowman, owner of Bowman's Market believes be-lieves in his employees and looks at them as a team and family. He also believes in rewarding outstanding efforts. The store had an "Olympic Contest" recently that was inspired in-spired by two employees, Vaughn Gardiner and Bret Nybo. The winners win-ners of the contest received Dick's thanks along with cash awards and future bonuses. The contest has left the employees with a greater desire to work as a team and family in order to give the best service possible to the customers. With the goal "improvement -an on-going process," the employees em-ployees divided up into teams to work for five weeks on five different diffe-rent categories, adding a new goal each week, while keeping the previous pre-vious one in mind, thus habits would be built hoping to become a permanent part of that employee's ' behavior. The five categories were department depart-ment improvement, decor and appearance of the store and employee, em-ployee, production and effectiveness, effective-ness, customer service and appreciation appre-ciation and sales and in-store de monstrations. Along with these, items that were worked on, the employees em-ployees had the opportunity to complete a survey, and submit ideas on how to improve their departments. de-partments. This recent contest was met by . enthusiasm as the teams pulled together. There were 18 captains over the 60 employees, who had a judging sheet on each team member. mem-ber. It was based on dress standards, stan-dards, prompt breaks, initiative, puctuality and positive attitude.
