Show ORSON F. WHITNEY IS TO READ HIS POEM "ELIAS" Prof. Leroy E. Cowles of the University Uni-versity of Utah, a former member of the faculty of the Weber academy, was the speaker this morning during the devotional hour at the Ogden school. His theme was "Self Control" Con-trol" and In developing it he gave the students some valuable advice and held their closo attention. During the session. Principal J. L. Barker announced that Apostle Orson V. Whitney was to read his poem "Elias" tomorrow night in the Taber nacle under the auspices of the Academy Acad-emy lecture course committee. In connection with tho announcement he stated that the poem was considered by many cultured people to be almost equal to Milton's "Paradise Lost" and that to hear it read by the author would be one of the rarest opportunities opportuni-ties ever accorded to the people of Ogden. The reading is to be given without any charge being made for admission and will begin at 8:15 rclock. |
