Show GREAT BRITAIN CARRIESBURDEN Has Undertaken Far More Than Was Expected of Her Russia Will Remain Faithful. Petrograd, Jan. 26, via London, 11:43 a. m. A number of questions dealing with many phases of Russian relations to other countries, both her allies and neutral BtateB, were put to Foreign Minister Sassanoff by I members of the Duma at today's sit-ing sit-ing of the budget committee. M. Sassanoff replied briefly to everything asked him and said he would'request the imperial sanction to give detailed explanations at a plenary sitting of the Duma. To a query concerning the help England Was rendering the allies, France and Russia, M. Sassanoff replied re-plied that Great Britain had undertaken under-taken a burden far heavier than had been expected of her. Answering a question aa to w hether there was any danger of the conclusion of a permanent perma-nent peace, Iff. Sassanoff said emphatically em-phatically that Russia would remain faithful to the spirit of the imperial manifesto and the agreement with the allies not to conclude an independent peace. Deputy Kovalesky urged that the government issue a statement promising promis-ing that the legislative assemblies and the organs of public opinion be consulted before entering upon an elaboration of peace conditions Other questions concerned Italy, Rumania, Ru-mania, Bulgaria. Sweden, Palestine. Persia and Afghanistan, and the questions ques-tions of the Dardanelles and the Bos-phorous Bos-phorous and the relations between Japan and China. oo |
