Show PROPOSES A NEW STATE OFFICIAL Salt Lake Jan 26. Revision of the duties of the state board of education - proposed in a bill introduced by Senator Joseph Eckersley. which provides pro-vides for a hoard of six members appointed ap-pointed by the governor, with th1? consent of the senate, two to be appointed ap-pointed each biennium for terms of six years The bill pnyvides that in making thep appointments the go -emor "'shall consider only merit and fitness without reference to residence, occupation, party affiliation, religion or sex."
