Show Iron County. Parowan City Take Steps for Added 1-15 Interchange Parowan City Council was called into a meeting this past week of the Iron County Commission to make preparation prepar-ation for an application before be-fore the State Highway Department De-partment for a request for an on-off ramp near Parowan. Iron County agreed that they would construct a road from the proposed Interstate route past Parowan on what ; has been known as Holyoak i Lane, to the city limits and the City agreed that the access ac-cess road would be brought up to standard from that point to an intersection with , Highway 91 on Parowan's Main Street. At the meeting was C. V. Anderson, Distnct Engineer, i Mr. Anderson will carry the , proposal to the Highway De-, De-, partment ' -for consideration. Both the commission and the Parowan City Council felt an urgent need for the additional , access to the community, i Several other groups met i with the commission includ-I includ-I ing Joseph Zitting who submitted sub-mitted an application for a change in the county's zoning I regulation to provide for highway high-way services near the junction junc-tion of Highway 91 and Utah Highway 20 known as the , bonehollow road. The request was tabled I waiting for further action on hearings on proposed high-way high-way service zone changes already al-ready scheduled for hearings on July 8. I Loren Jones and Leland Carlson of the Soil Conservation Conserva-tion Service met with the commission and extended an invitation for members of the commission to participate in a meeting scheduled Friday, June 21 in Cedar City with other community and county officials. Purpose of the meeting meet-ing is to coordinate services provided by SCS with community com-munity development throughout through-out the entire five county area, ar-ea, they reported. Also meeting with the commission com-mission to coordinate right of ways and other developments relative to the National Forest For-est were Robert L. Jacobson, Howard Emirch and Arty Woodard. They presented the Lf orest service . plans and discussed dis-cussed improvements and projects pro-jects expected during the coming com-ing year. A subdivision to be known as the Escalante Valley , Rancho Unit No. 7, was ap-i ap-i proved by the commission. The unit is located near Mo-dena Mo-dena and was presented to the commission by Ray Thom-1 Thom-1 as Enterprises by R. L. Gard-: Gard-: ner, attorney. |
