Show Red Hill Wranglers Plan Annual July Fourth Race Meet and Rodeo Tullis in charge of the race track and grounds, who is now working on improvements for the show. They are being assisted by the rest of the j riding club members. Plans are now under way for the big July 4 Race Meet and Rodeo sponsored annually annual-ly by the Red Hill Wrangles, local riding club. Each year they sponsor this event as a part of the community's observance ob-servance of our Nation's birthday birth-day and each year it is getting get-ting bigger and bigger. To assist in making the July meet better, a steady program of improvements is going ahead at the race track and rodeo grounds with the riding rid-ing club and Parowan City cooperating, along with Iron County, whick sponsors the annual Labor Day week end meet in conjunction with the Iron County Fair. At this time a new addition is being built on the grandstand grand-stand at the track, it is reported re-ported by Mrs. Norman Evans, publicity manager for the riding rid-ing club. It is expected that this addition will be completed complet-ed for July 4 to make ample room for all spectators for the meet this year, Mrs. Evans adds. She adds that the Parowan race track and rodeo grounds are the only ones in this end of the state where racing and rodeo fans can enjoy a combination com-bination show. A full card of horse races with good purses and some of the best horses in the state participating, is promised this year. The new straightaway at the track provides a lot of interest for the short races and the track is in excellent condition for the longer races. A complete amateur rodeo is also provided for the entertainment enter-tainment of the fans with bronc riding, calf and steer roping and of course the Brahma Brah-ma bull riding with a clown to help the cowboys and entertain enter-tain the crowd. A ladies barrel bar-rel race will also be a feature of the program. The Parowan track and arena is in the best shape ever, Mrs. Evans says, with many horsemen from surrounding sur-rounding communities hauling haul-ing their horses in to train here, taking advantage of the good, safe surface on the race track. Members of the sponsoring club, who are working to 'make this year's July 4 event a success are Paul Fife, rodeo chairman, and Roger Allen, racing chairman with Larry |
