Show Iron County Republican Party Selects Delegates to Attend Utah State Confab "This is a Republican year," delegates to the Iron County Republican Convention held at Parowan Tuesday, June 11, were told by by keynote speaker, Richards Richards, chairman, Utah Republican State Committee. Mr. Richards pointed out that the "people are disallu-sioned disallu-sioned with the Federal Government Gov-ernment and what has been happening over the past four years. Promises were made that were impossible to keep, both at home and abroad." He I added that "Due to this it has brought obout ""beWflderment' j of the American People, distrust dis-trust of elected officials, created riots, f rise in crime rates, and disrespect for law and order in general." 7 . , j The convention, chairmaned by Dr. Paul Lunt of Cedar City, Ci-ty, selected candidates for the office of state representative, four-year and two-year county coun-ty commissioners. J. Harold Mitchell was unopposed un-opposed in his bid for nomination nom-ination for re-election as a State Representative. Candi-: dates who did not receive the required 80 percent or more of 'the votes cast and who will appear on the Primary Ballot in September, include Ivan ( Matheson and Dee Cowan for four-year commissioner, D. Robinson and H. M. Endsley for two-year commissioner. Twenty-three delegates were selected to represent Iron County at the Utah Republican Repub-lican Stata Primary Convention Conven-tion to be held in Salt Lake City, July 12 and 13. They were: Dr. Paul Lunt, LaRue Gardner, Robert Moss, Joseph LiPbrapT Bruce Atkin, Dennis Bauer, Francis Leany, Dr. Morris Mor-ris Shirts, Morgan Slack, Diane Di-ane Brown, Kerry Jones, R. Haze Hunter, Dixie Leavitt, B. Gleri Kenney, Robert L. Gardner, Gard-ner, James Sandberg, Clinton Hunt, Neil Sumsion, Joss Guy-man, Guy-man, Amos Hatch, Myron Abbott, Ab-bott, Ivan Matheson and Ellen El-len Clark. The following night a district dis-trict workshop was conducted in Cedar City by Mr. Richards and Ray Townsend, executive secretary of the Utah Republicans Repub-licans in Cedar City. |
