Show American Coleman Gets Upset Wins In League Play Spilsbury 4 1 .800 Milne 2 3 .400 Rotary 2 3 .400 Kiwanis 2 2 .500 . Coleman 2 3 .400 ' Coleman after losing their first three games of the year bounced back with two wins during the past week including includ-ing a victory over the league leading Spilsbury Mortuary crew. Coleman belted seven hits to score 5 runs in topping Spilsbury 5 to 3. Lee Holmes was the winning pitcher. Brad Lambeth suffered the loss. Coleman scored all five in the fifth inning of play. j Monday Coleman continued their winning ways as they defeated Rotary 11 to 8 in two extra innings. The clubs tied at 7 all at the end of regulation regula-tion play. Each added a run in the seventh, Coleman on a home run by Tony Lister then Coleman put it away in the eighth with three runs on two hits. Craig Rollo collected three doubles for Rotary in the losing effort. Spilsbury bounced back Tuesday with an 11 to 1 victory vic-tory over Milne to stay on top of the standings. Lambeth was the winning pitcher allowing only two hits. Spilsbury scored six runs in the first inning of play with two doubles the big blows, one by Jeff Beten-son Beten-son and the other by Lindsay Whitehead. Rotary had one victory in I the week, a 7 to 5 win over Kiwanis. Heading 7-0 going into the final inning Kiwanis had three doubles n the final inning but it was still not quite enough. Kiwanis, however, earlier in th-e week defeated Milne 9 to 4 with Ray Meyers picking up the mound victory. Dave Kan-osh Kan-osh and Robert Shirts shared mound duty for the losers and Russell Robinson homered for Milne in the losing effort. Members of the Lady Elks will attend their annual Canyon Can-yon Breakfast today at 6 p.m. It will be held at the College Cabin. |
