Show CSU Scientist Contributes To Publication A scientific article by Dr. Wesley P. Larsen, dean of the College of Southern Utah School of Science, has been published in an International Atomic Energy Agency information inform-ation circular on radion techniques tech-niques and their application to Insect pests. The nama of Dr. Larsen's article is "Survival of Embryonic Embry-onic Insect Heart Fragments Following Irradiation Under Conditions of Hypo-Thermia." The publication in which the article appeared is published pub-lished three times a year to circulate scientific articles and abstracts among scientists throughout the world. Plans are being made at CSU to publish Dr. Larsen's article as part of a new re-search re-search program administered by Dr. Richard Thompson. Prior to his recent two-year leave to work with the National Na-tional Science Foundation, Dr. Larsen conducted extensive study with giant cockroaches to determine irradiation effects on the various organs of the insects. He has become internationally inter-nationally known for this research, re-search, which resulted in the acquisition by CSU of a Cobalt-60 Cobalt-60 Irradiation from the Atomic Atom-ic Energy Commission. |
