Show INDIANS HOLD DANCE. j Annual Invocation to Great Spirit Made In Secluded Valley. Special to Tho Tribune. POCATELLO. March K.-Yestcrdav closed the annual grass dance of the Indians In-dians of the Fort Hall Indian reservation. 1 ho dance was held In a secluded valley at the Toot of,Mt. Putnam, about ten miles from tho agency. This is one of the most important ceremonies of the year, when, by song and dance, the Great Spirit Is asked to lake away the snow and bring the grass. There were nhout 500 or the .1000 on the reserve who participated in the dance. With their ponies, dogs squaws and pappooscs they formed a' motley Vr?m'1- . Tl! Impres-sive. The dance is continued for hours, tho tired dancers being relieved bv willing will-ing volunteers.
