Show ASSESSORS MEET. Convention of Idaho Officials Discusses New Tax Law. Special to Tho Tribune. BOISE. March 17. Idaho's new taxation taxa-tion and revenue law was the knotty problom that twunty-clghl assessors of as many difforent counties In the state tackled hero today at their annual meeting meet-ing at tho state capltol. The assessors aro hero pursuant to a call issued by Governor Haines. William A. KIncaid. assessor of Ada county, was elected chairman and F. M. Ilobbs of Elmore county, secretary. Lieutenant Governor TI. IT. Taylor, who became acting governor by virtue of the absence of Governor Haines in California, welcomed the assessors on behalf of the state. The assessors spent tho day discussing the bill. They expressed themselves as pleased over tho retontlon of the semiannual semi-annual tax payment, providod In the measure, and tho removal of that feature fea-ture of tho old law providing that taxes amounting to $20 or under must be paid In a lump sum. They bellevo they havo discovered a Joker In the measure, In that it provides a 10 per cent penalty on taxes due and left unpaid on the first tax payment date. |
