They were the 49th and 50th Eagle Scouts of Bountiful 27th Ward, Bountiful Utah North Slake. lilt AWARD was present-; present-; ed to them during a special -" Court of Honor combined with a scout banquet where i- friends, family and grand-;j grand-;j parents attended. Reed was bom on Saint Patrick's Pa-trick's Day, March 17, 1962. ' His parents are Bruce and ; Sherral Parkin. He has four sisters and one brother. He is : a sophomore at Viewmont High. REED ENJOYS sport ac-i ac-i ' tivities, participating in the Little League, Bronco and . Pony programs in the city. He - has played baseball for church teams and since becoming a Venturer has enjoyed en-joyed playing basketball. Since he started scouting he ! became interested in the out-of-doors and has enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. hunt-ing. Fishing at Strawberry . Reservoir, running the rapids ; on the Green River and the big pack-ins in the Uintas has been some of his favorite ; scout activities. He is looking . ; : forward to the Lake Powell : venture this coming summer. One of his merit badge rA projects, fish care, has ; developed into a hobby. He' now maintains three 10-gallon : aquariums and a 30-gallon ! - one. He has had a large X -J L DAVID GORDON variety of fish to which he gives- nearly immaculate care. HE BEGAN his music interest with the piano, but changed to the drums. He is a member of Viewmont Jazz band and is traveling with the music group to Mexico City. He is looking forward with great anticipation to his first airplane flight and his visit to the cily and other historical sights close by. Reed is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has always al-ways been active and a leader in each of his priesthood quorums. Presently he is serving as president of his Teachers quorum. David is the son of Dean and Louise Gordon. He is 14 years old and an eighth grade student at Centerville Junior High School. He enjoys sports, has been a representative for Centerville in a science fair at Weber College and two music festivals. fes-tivals. He plays the string bass for the school orchestra and Ogden Golden Spike Youth orchestra. He plays electric bass in the . school stage band. DAVID HAS enjoyed all of his scout activities. He was patrol leader and chief mischief maker. |
