Show DUP camp gathers for meet The Aurelia S. Rogers Camp of Daughters of Utah Pioneers met Sept. 1 4 at the home of Stana Wood with Louise Stein as cohostess. Maurine Rodgers, captain, presided pres-ided and 22 members were present. The 70th anniversary meeting of the organization will be held at the Salt Lake Hilton Oct. 2, with more details later. Members are encouraged encour-aged to attend the all day meeting with a luncheon at noon. Zelda Tidwell, historian, talked on the writing of pioneer histories. Members were encouraged to submit sub-mit histories of their families to the camp. Alice Eldridge showed a delicate antique toothpick holder owned by her grandmother before the turn of the century. The lesson was given by Helen Hughes, lesson leader. The topic was "The Year 1887." Songs led by Ruth Gatrill were "Those Grand Old Pioneers," and "Battle Hymn of the Republic." Museum news concerning the cleaning of the museum and rearranging rear-ranging of exhibits was highlighted by Lila Burgoyne. Other museum news was told by Ruth Gatrill. Her topic covered a wagon owned and used by Brigham Young and now on display. An article written by Lucille Reading for "The Children's Friend" in 1968 was read by Lila Burgoyne. The subject concerned a fire which occurred in Farming-ton Farming-ton in 1902. The only things saved from the fire were Primary records which belonged to Aurelia S. Rogers.
