Show Newlyweds Feted At Reception Saturday Night Among social highlights of the week was the wedding reception held last Saturday evening at the J. Leo Hanson residence, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Owen Asay, whose marriage took place Saturday, April 30, in Vernal, with Bishop Ward Evans, of the Maeser LDS ward performing the ceremony. The bride, the former LaRue Grove, is the daughter of Mrs. Vera Gardner, and the bridegroom the son of Mr. and Mrs. Seth Asay. As-ay. Gordon Eldredge assumed best man duties. The bride greeted guests in her wedding gown of white satin, fashioned with a tight-fitting bodice, bod-ice, having tiny satin-covered buttons but-tons from the neckline to the waist. The long sleeves tapered to points at the wrist and her fingertip veil of bride's illusion fell from a seed pearl tiara. Her bouquet was of red roses and baby breath. Background music was furnished by Miss Laura Ann Leavitt, with vocal selections by Miss Deanna Asay, accompanied by Miss Diane Nelson. The serving table was centered with an arrangement of apricot blossoms, accented on either side with tall green tapers in crystal candlebra. Mrs. Hollis Hullinger presided at the table and refreshments refresh-ments were under the direction of Mrs. Theron Leavitt, Mrs. Arvin Ar-vin Nelson and Mrs. Elmer Giggy. Assisting in the serving room were Mrs. Verlin Labrum, Miss Barcy Nickell, Miss Diane Nelson and Miss Deanna Asay. In charge of the gift room were Miss Charlotte Char-lotte McArthur and Miss Arlene Lawson, Signing of the guest book was supervised by Mrs. Emerson Root and Mrs. Cliff Memmott. The bridegroom will leave May 16 for San Diego, where he is stationed with the U. S. Naval Service, having been in the service since 1952, with nine more months of scheduled duty. His bride is a I junior student at Union High School. |
