Show Reception At Harmston Home Honors The John (Mac) Wrights Lt. John M. (Mac). Wright claimed Miss Peggy Oldroyd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Oldroyd, Roosevelt, as his bride in wedding rites held Wednesday May 4, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Tem-ple. Lt. Wright is the son of Mr and Mrs. John W. Wright, 821 Kensington Ave., Salt Lake City. Officiating in the ceremony was Robert J. Burton of the Temple presidency. Following their marriage the newlyweds were honored at a wed' ding breakfast at the Doll House and that evening the bridegroom's parents were' hosts at an open house at their residence. Thursday evening a reception at the Gordon Harmston residence in Roosevelt complimented the young couple. Standing with the bride and groom were their parents and the bride's attendant, Miss Lois Peterson of Salt Lake City. Guests were welcomed by the hosts, Mr. and Mrs. Harmston. The lovely brunette bride was radiant in her ballerina length wedding gown, designed with a full gathered skirt of tulled net over satin with wide ruffles of Chantilly lace. Her corresponding lace jacket with long fitted sleeves had a Peter Pan collar and tiny buttons down the front. The finger fin-ger tip veil was held to a crown of lace and seed pearls and the bride carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations centered with a white orchid and tied "with white satin streamers. Miss Peterson, the bride's maid of honor, was in a ballerina length mint green taffeta, accented accent-ed with a pink sweetpea and rosebud corsage. Mother of the bride wore an after-five dress of champagne lace, while the groom's mother was attired in pink lace. Both had camellia corsages. Arrangements of pink roses and pink gladioli adorned the living room where the receiving line was formed. Soft background music, with piano solections at intervals, was played by Miss Laura Ann Leavitt. In charge of serving were Mrs. Clair Larsen and Mrs. Richard Adams, Ad-ams, assisted by Miss Maria Pulos and Miss Carol Memmott. Others assisting included the Misses Pam Harmston, . Ann Murphy, Linda Schmiett and Laura Ann Leavitt. The serving table was covered with an imported linen cloth and centered with a three-tier wedding cake, each tier supported by white columns and decorated with pale pink roses and silver leaves. Maiden-hair fern surrounded the bottom bot-tom tier and a miniature bride and groom in a leafed archway topped the cake. Presiding at the tea table were Mrs. Wm. H. Ruppel, Rup-pel, Jr. and Mrs. Clifton N. Memmott. Mem-mott. Pink tapers in silver holders hold-ers and pink napkins inscribed with "Peggy and Mac" completed the pink and white color motif. In charge of the gift room were Mrs. Morrell Labrum and Mrs. Lynn Poulsen. Mrs. Denny Martin Mar-tin directed the guest book signing. sign-ing. The newlyweds left the following follow-ing day for Charleston, South Carolina, where Lt. Wright is stationed sta-tioned with the U. S. Air Force. Upon their arrival they will be at home at 2019 Clement Avenue, Charleston Heights, S. C. For her going-away ensemble the new Mrs. Wright chose a grey tweed suit, with black patent accessories ac-cessories and a chic white hat. |
