Show ftlyton Auxiliary Selects Two For Girls' State The American Legion Auxiliary, Wm. R. Sands Unit No. 5 of Myton has announced the selection of two girls to attend Girls' State at Utah State Agricultural College at Logan, June 12 to 19. They were selected by their high school faculties fac-ulties for their scholastic ratings and required qualifications, according accord-ing to Mrs. W. R. -Harris, Girls' State chairman of Unit No. 5. The girls chosen are juniors at Union High school and both are 'B' plus 'A' minus students. They are Norma Rae Murphy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earwin Murphy of Bridgeland and Phyllis Yergensen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Yergensen of Myton. Norma has shown special talent in public speaking and dancing as well as being an excellent student, a leader in her class and qualifies in all requirements. Phyllis has been active in public speaking and dramatics to add to her qualifications as a student in the upper third of her class scholastically and with natural leadership. |
