Mrs. Nora Benton, a former teacher at the Uintah Indian boarding school, spent the weekend week-end in Whiterocks. Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Betts and their nieces, Kay and Jane Hoyt, of Oklahoma, who are spending the summer here, went to Salt Lake City recently to attend the Shriners circus and to visit with Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Fosdick. I Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wheeler are spending a few days in Salt Lake. Miss Nancy Marimon left Wednesday for San Anselmo, Calif., where she will attend a special school for two weeks before participating in a 4-week youth caravan for the Presbyterian Presby-terian church. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Robb took their daughter, Mrs. Ray Ras-mussen, Ras-mussen, to Camp Roberts. Calif., to join her husband, who is in training' there. Roy Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wopsock, and Alvin Du-ley Du-ley spent the week-end here. They are attending a summer school training session at the Intermountain Indian school at Brigham City. Ralph Marimon and his family, fam-ily, from Chicago, and Mrs. Charles DeMaisey, of Ogden, vis-lited vis-lited in Whiterocks Wednesday 1 and Thursday. This is the first 'visit Ralph Marimon has made in Whiterocks in 33 years. He was employed by A. L. Marimon in the store many years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Phillipps made a business trip to Salt Lake City last week. ! Mrs. Levi Reed, of Manila is visiting here with Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Hoopes. I Mr. and Mrs. Larry Whetitore are leaving Wednesday to move to Vernal. i The Whiterocks ward ball , team won from Ioka Friday evening. The team is managed I by Petro Forakis and is working work-ing hard to win the penant. i Mrs. Pike is managing the (girls ball team again this summer, sum-mer, so look out everybody. jSome of her old players won't be with her team this summer, but she does have some very promising new recruits. Mrs. James, matron at the Phoenix Indian school, visited at the Uintah school over the week-end. |
