Show C. H. (CLAIR) LABRUM Funeral services for C. H. (Clair) labrum, 55, prominent Roosevelt church worker and businessman, were held in the Roosevelt L.D.S. chapel Wednesday. Wednes-day. June 20, at 2 p. m.. under the direction of Bishop R. Vernon Vern-on Larsen, of the Roosevelt ward. Mr. Labrum died suddenly Sunday afternoon at 5:15, only a few minutes after he and his family had returned from a Father's Day trip. Death was due to a heart ailment. Born August 18, 1895, in Cottonwood, Cot-tonwood, Salt Lake county, he was a son of Thomas George and Maria Ann Gough Labrum. He married Lela Ray Nielson, June 26, 1926, in Roosevelt. A year later they received their endowments in the Manti temple, tem-ple, Church of Jesus Christ of Lattef-Day Saints. Mr, Labrum had been a resident resi-dent of the Uintah Basin since he was two years of age, His boyhood days were spent at Deep Creek. A veteran of World War I, he had been active in the American Amer-ican Legion and had been commander com-mander of Basin Post 64 and had held all offices of the post. He had operated a shoe repair shop for the past 30 years and was an expert in harness and saddle rebuilding. An active member of the L. D.S. church, Mr. Labrum was an elder and ward teacher at the time of his death. He had served as secretary of his elders' el-ders' quorum and had been active ac-tive in M.I. A. work, serving as a counselor and secretary. He was especially active as a Boy Scout leader. Mr. Labrum was an active member of the Democratic party par-ty and was elected about a year ago as treasurer of the county central committee. Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Donna Rae Tiet-jen, Tiet-jen, Kanab, Kane county; Renee Labrum, Roosevelt; eight brothers broth-ers and sisters: William Labrum, Midvale; Ralph Labrum. Pasadena, Pasa-dena, Calif.; Mrs. Mary Jane Hadlock, Mrs. Alice Dingman, California; Jesse "Labrum. La-point; La-point; Mrs. Maria Caldwell, Portland; Alva Labrum, Seattle; Mrs. Olive Harrison, Roosevelt; and one grandchild. , Graveside services at the Roosevelt cemetery were direct-j ed by Basin Post 64, American Legion. Burial was under the direction of the Olpin Mortuary, of Roosevelt. jesse q. Lawson Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed Monday, June 18, at 2 p. m. in the Roosevelt L.D.S. chapel for Jesse Q. Lawson, 71, of Roosevelt, by E. J. Nixon, bishop bish-op of the Roosevelt Second ward. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mr. Lawson died Friday, June 15. at the family home at 3:55 a. m.. following fol-lowing a lingering illness. He was born Feb. 17. 1880, in Harden county, Kentucky, a son of John W. A. and Margaret iMeers Lawson. He came to 'Bountiful at the age of 14 and resided there until 1911. He married Elizabeth M. Moore in Coalville, Nov. 4. 1904. During his youth, he was fore-jman fore-jman of the Deseret Livestock company and for the last 35 years had been engaged in farming farm-ing and livestock raising in Roosevelt. Surviving him are six sons and five daughters: Quivington, Everett, Douglas and Max Law-son, Law-son, Roosevelt; Mrs. Laura Dye. N e o 1 a; Mrs. Iona Worthen, Woodrow Lawson and Mrs. Gwenevere Sweat, Salt Lake City; Ferris Lawson, Tooele; and Mrs' Catherine Yack, Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs, Wanda Nelson, Nel-son, Tremonton; 29 grandchildren- two brothers and two sisters: sis-ters: William and Hanson Law-son, Law-son, Mrs. Birdie Dolar and Mrs. Lavina Day, Bountiful. Burial was in the Roosevelt city cemetery, under the direction direc-tion of Olpin Mortuary, of Roosevelt. Roos-evelt. MARY E. H. HARDMAN IOKA Funeral services were conducted in the Ioka chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Lat-ter Day Saints, Wednesday at 1 p. m. for Mrs. Mary Elvina Hill Hardman, 79, who died at 12-30 p. m. Sunday, June 17, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. William Faucett, of Ioka. She had been ill several months. Services were conducted by James Lemon, Bishop of the Ioka ward, and burial was in the Roosevelt city cemetery, under the direction of the Olpin Mortuary, Mor-tuary, of Roosevelt. A native of Mendon. Cache county, she was born April 27, 1872, a daughter of James Hood and Christena Borensen Hill. She was married to John Hard-man, Hard-man, Dec. 18. 1896. Later they received their endowments In the Salt Lake temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints. Mr. Hardman died Dec. 3, 1932. Mrs. Hardman was reared and educated in Mendon, and moved to Star Valley, Wyo., after her marriage. In 1917 the couple moved to My ton, where she lived until her husband's death. I Later Mrs. Hardman resided in Tremonton for eight years. Active in the L.D.S. church, Mrs. Hardman was a teacher in the Myton L.D.S. ward Primary association, was president of the Relief Society of the former Highland branch, Roosevelt stake, and was a Relief Society teacher for many years. Mrs. Hardman spent considerable consider-able time doing work in L.D.S. temples, and for three years was a constant worker. She was the mother of nine sons and daughters, eight of whom survive: John William , Hardman and Mrs. Mary Ger-Itrude Ger-Itrude Ashton, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Hazel Drollinger. Richmond, Rich-mond, Cache county; Mrs. Chris-tena Chris-tena Herbert, Myton; Mrs. Myrtle Myr-tle Fauscett and Mrs. Anna Mit-chie, Mit-chie, Ioka; Mrs. Delsa Mitchie, Hanna; and Mrs. Minnie Ashton, Tremonton; a sister, Mrs. Me-linda Me-linda Catren, Sheridan, Wyo.; 42 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. - JOSEPH A. Roosevelt ward will conduct the services. Mr. Brundage was born Nov. 21, 1880, in Spanish Fork, a son i of Joseph and Liberty Taylor I Brundage. He was reared in (Spanish Fork, coming to the Uintah Basin in 1906, where he homesteaded a farm in Ante-ilope, Ante-ilope, Daggett county.
