Show X,eetcn-ennett Mrs. Fern Houston Dance Held To Aid Missionary Tuesday evening the M.I.A. sponsored a dancing party for one of our missionaries, Byron, Horrocks,. now laboring in the Southern States. He is president of the Hazelhurst Branch and has been in the mission field 19 months. This Georgia mission mis-sion is building a chapel at a cost of $15,000.00 Byron is enjoying the work immensely, is in good health, and expects to be home sometime some-time in November. Bill Coltharp has been confined con-fined to his home all week with mumps. Mrs. Mary E. Hamaker, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Werner. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Hamaker are spending the week here while remodeling Mrs. Hamaker's home. The Leeton No. 1 oil rig has had unusual difficulty and some delay by the drill stem twisting three times. Mr. Pitts, of St. George is the new tool pusher and Mr. Freeman, the geologist, has arrived and will be stationed station-ed here permanently. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Harmston, and Mrs. Nellie Whitlock and Maxine spent Sunday in Uinta canyon. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Houston 15ft Sunday on a trip to Kansas City. Mrs. Clair Haslem and Mrs. Clint Betts, of Whiterocks, made a trip to Springville during the week to visit their mother, Mrs. William Diamond. Lawrence Murphy and family, fam-ily, of Etna, Cal., visited friends and relatives here last week. Mr. and Mrs Delbert Horrocks Hor-rocks attended the testimonial for Romona Harrison in Lapoint Sunday. She is going to the Mexican mission field. Mrs. P. E. Russon visited her sons. Wayne and Wendell, at Camp Williams, over the weekend. week-end. Mrs. Wendel Russon is staying stay-ing with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. John Haslem, while Wen-del Wen-del is taking his training. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Horrocks Hor-rocks attended M.I.A. conference confer-ence in Salt Lake City last week. Mrs. Phyllis Nebeker, of Gusher, Gush-er, is staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Russon, while her husband is at Camp Williams. Wil-liams. Visitors at Sacrament meeting meet-ing Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Acel Perry and sons, of Ft. Duchesne Du-chesne and Melvin Peterson, Roosevelt seminary teacher. |
