Show Harvest Festival Held By Ward The Altonah ward held their annual Harvest Festival Tuesday Tues-day night, Nov. 3rd in the ward hall. Lunch was sold under the direction of the Relief Society. The Sunday School was in charge of the bazaar; the bishopric, bishop-ric, the farm produce, which was auctioned off with Bishop J. Arthur Timothy as auctioneer; auction-eer; and the Mutual was in charge of the following program: pro-gram: trio, Cassions Song," by Dean Carroll, Allen Ames and Tyron Kolb, with Sharrel Ames accompanying; violin solo, "La Paloma," by Alta Ames, with Sharrel at the piano; jokes, by Mrs. Belva Allred; ladies chorus, chor-us, "Let the Rest of the World Go' By," by Mrs. Vernia Allred, Mrs. Margaret Reay and Mrs. Lawana Timothy, with Mrs. va Snyder at the piano; girls' quartett, "Bells of the Sea," by Coralie Maxfield, Alta - -Ames, Bonnie Ames and Doris Allred, with Sharrel Ames accompanist; tap dancing, Marilyn Young and Roxie Rird. Reece Timothy's orchestra or-chestra furnished the music. On Tuesday afternoon the Primary officers and teachers directed the children in their part for the festival. Popcorn 1 balls, cookies and punch were ( sold and there was a fish pond and dancing. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Bowden went to Vernal, Thursday afternoon af-ternoon to see Mr. Bowden's brother, Charley Bowden, who was burned in the Bonanza mine explosion, Thursday morning, morn-ing, Nov. 5th. Mr. and Mrs. George Fisher, Mrs. Dennie Ralphs and Mrs. Minnie Maxfield, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Clark and Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Powell all went to Bon- anza, Thursday, when theyj heard of the explosion at the mine, to be with their loved j one's. Mr. and Mrs. Von. Timothy's Tim-othy's son, JaVar, was one of the 8 men trapped in the mine when the explosion happened. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Maxfield and Mr. and Mrs. Linford Maxfield Max-field made a trip to Bonanza. Friday, to see their sister and brother-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Von Timothy. |
