Show Randlett By Mrt Viola Jensen p-TA Meeting Held Thursday Night The Avalon school PTA meeting meet-ing was held Thursday evening with President Marion Taylor conducting. Mrs. Taylor introduced intro-duced the guest speakers as follows: fol-lows: Mrs. Cliff Memmott, Regional Reg-ional P-TA president, of Roosevelt; Roose-velt; Mrs. Rhoda Robinson and Mr. Max Abbot of Vernal. Mr. Abbot is principal at the Uintah High School. Light refreshments were served. FAREWELL PARTY HONORS LAWRENCE C. WALLS A farewell party was given Friday evening at the Randlett chapel in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence C. Wall, Sr. who are leaving soon to go on a mission to Norway. The following follow-ing program was under the direction di-rection of Henry Wall: two piano duets; talk by Mr. Cliff Memmott of Roosevelt; quartet by Faye Harris, Velma Pickup, Dian Taylor and Reah Pickup, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Eugina Pickup; duet by Veda Wall and Beatrice Chandler, Chand-ler, accompanied by Grace Mc-Mu'llen; Mc-Mu'llen; reading by Henry Wall; three accordian selections by Leland Young; talks by Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wall, Sr.; two readings by Mrs. Sadie Reay; afterwhich dancing was enjoyed and refreshments served. Mr. Fahy Durfee went to Salt Lake City Monday to visit at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Barlowe. The Relief Society gave a farewell party Tuesday in hono-of hono-of Mrs. Antone'tte B. Wall who is leaving soon to fill a two-year two-year mission in Norway. Games were played and delicious refreshments re-freshments served to twenty ladies. The Relief Society presented pre-sented Mrs. Wall with a very beautiful brief case with her name engraved on it. Helen Stevens, the public school nurse, visited Thursday at the Avalon school. Mrs. Alice Wall entertained Saturday in honor of her son, Tedy's birthday. Games were played and refreshments served. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wall and daughter, Veda, went to Bonanza Bon-anza Friday to see their son, Lavern, who was working at the mine where the explosion occured. Lavern escaped with injury. The Walls enjoyed visiting visit-ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Timothy, who 6erved them a delicious dinner after which the Walls enjoyed visiting with their son and daughter-in-law. Mr. Warren Harris took the Walls in his car. Mr. and Mrs. Garr Brough and family of Layton. Utah, spent pheasant season here with relatives. Lyle Pickup, who is attending attend-ing school at the BYU, spent the weekend visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. LaRue Pickup. Mr. John Numan and three friends of Salt Lake City spent the weekend at the home of ' Mr. and Mrs. William Chandler. Mr. Numan and Mrs Chandler are brothers-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon J. Lewis and family spent Friday visiting in Roosevelt at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Lewis. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Stevens, of Salt Lake City, were guests, Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Jensen. Visitors at Sunday School, on Sunday, were Mr. and Mrs. Norman Nor-man Holmes and daughters. - Mary Sue and Tonia, of Ft. Duchesne; Du-chesne; Rex Curry and Wesley R. Dickerson, of Roosevelt. Speakers at Sacrament meeting meet-ing Sunday were Mr. Doutre and George Hacking, of Roosevelt. Roose-velt. A duet was sung by Veda Wall and Beatrice Chandler, accompanied ac-companied on the piano by Grace McMullin. Cloe Brough and Beverly Brough were released re-leased as Primary Teachers. Mrs. Edna Littleton, of Leota, was sustained as first counselor in the Primary; Lydia Brough and Veda Wall as Primary teachers. Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Naylor, of Gridly. Calif., returned to their home Friday after visiting for a week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Taylor, i Mr. and Mrs. Lee Barlow, of ' Salt Lake City, are visiting at the home of Mrs. Barlow's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Fahy Durfee. Mrs. Ehma Harris, of Myton, spent part of the week visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Harris. |
