Show Bluebell War Ifet hissing In Bonanza Explosion (BLUEBELL Special) Evertt Goodrich, 31, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Goodrich, was one of the eight miners trapped in the explosion at the American Gilsonite mine at Bonanza on Nov. 5, at 8:10 a.m. Everett was born in Bluebell on March 24, 1922. He attended the Bluebell grade school. A graduate from Seminary in 1939, he was graduated from Altamont High School in 1940. He attended B.Y.U. in 1940, and in 1941 attended Carbon College Col-lege at Price. He served in the army from 1942 to 1944 in the Seventh Infantry division. While there he was wounded in the left arm by Jap mortar fire on Okinawa and while in an army hospital in the Hawaiian Islands, he was presented the Purple Heart. Since his discharge from the army ar-my he has herded sheep and worked a year in the coal mines at Carbon County. Since then he has worked at Little Bonanza-and Big Bonanza Gilsonite mines. He is survived by his parents, the following brothers and sisters: sis-ters: Lloyd Goodrich, Little Bonanza; Kenneth Goodrich and Mrs. Carma Mathews, Big Bonanza; Bon-anza; Lorin Goodrich, serving in the U.S. Army in Germany; Mrs. Ardis Johnson, of Montana; Clyde and Carolyn Goodrich, of of Bluebell; his grandfather, Levison Hancock, of Orem. |
