Show Raodlett By Mrs. Viola Jensen MIA Enjoys Hamburger Fry The MIA enjoyed a hamburger hambur-ger fry Tuesday evening with the following program being given: A reading, by Melissa Anderson; a song, by Velma and Reah Pickup and Loye Harris. The party and games were under un-der the direction of Alberta Wardle and Lewis Littleton, the activity counselors. Bishop Ralph Durfee went to Salt Lake City, Monday to have a barley beard removed from his eye. MIA officers and teachers attending at-tending stake Leadership meeting, meet-ing, Wednesday evening at Roosevelt, were: Mr. and Mrs. Grant Pickup, Marian Taylor, Zilpha Wall and Grant Jarman. Primary officers and teachers attending ward Primary Preparation Prepar-ation Wednesday evening were: Donna Pickup, Jennie McMul-len, McMul-len, Afton Rogers, Nellie Harris, Norma Marshall and Viola Jensen. Jen-sen. Mrs. Donna Pickup gave the lesson. Mr. and Mrs. John Young, Mrs. Reva Daniels, of Fort Duchesne, Du-chesne, and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Young attended the funeral of Mrs. Young's stepfather, Charley Ludlow, of Heber City. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Jarman, Mrs. Mary Young and Mrs. Venice Ven-ice Durfee were Vernal visitors Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Lewis and family, of Vernal, were Wednesday evening visitors at the J. E. Jensen home. Stephen Gould, of Ogden, is visiting at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Lula Dudley. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Jensen and family spent Thursday evening eve-ning visiting at the J. E. Jensen home. Mrs. Marian Shelton and son, Duane, of Roosevelt, spent the weekend visiting with her parents. par-ents. Miss Mary Louise Bath, of Vernal, spent the weekend visiting visit-ing at the home of Deon Wall. A wedding reception and dance was held Friday evening at the ward house in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Searle, of Leota. Music was furnished by the Poulson orchestra of Vernal. A group-of ladies took seven bushel of tomatoes up to' Roosevelt, Roose-velt, Friday, and canned them at the stake cannery as a ward welfare project. Mr. and Mrs. Austin .Wardle and daughter, Peggy, accompanied accompan-ied High Councilman Marion Bowman to Willow Creek Sunday Sun-day to attend church. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Gagon and family, of Lone Pine, Calif., are visiting at the home of Bishop Bish-op and Mrs. Ralph Durfee. Mrs. Durfee and Mr. Gargon are sister sis-ter and brother. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Jensen and daughters visited Thursday in Roosevelt. ' Mr. and Mrs. Blake V. Peay and family have moved to Vernal. Ver-nal. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Stoddard and family visited during the week with relatives in Salt Lake City. Speakers at Sacrament meeting meet-ing Sunday afternoon were: Lester Les-ter Gardner, LaRue Pickup, Bishop Ralph Durfee and Calvin Cal-vin Jorgensen. Duane Call, the new Seminary Sem-inary principal at Union, was introduced to the people and Loye Harris played a piano selection. se-lection. Mr. and Mrs. LaVern Wall and baby son, of Bonanza, visited vis-ited Saturday at the home of Mr. Wall's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wall. Mrs. Hannah Harris spent a few days during the week visiting visit-ing with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Allred and family, of Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Mariner McMul-len McMul-len and family spent Saturday visiting Mrs. McMullen's mother, moth-er, Mrs. Pearl Jenkins, at Roosevelt. Roose-velt. Beverly Marshall was baptized bap-tized Sunday at the Roosevelt stake house. Ward Leadership meeting was held Sunday evening. |
