Show Breaks Leg Friends of Ernest Knowles are expressing regret for an accident ac-cident which occurred to him last week. While attempting to head a cow, he slipped and fell, breaking his leg in two places. He was taken to the Roosevelt Hospital, and from there to Og-den, Og-den, where he will remain until his condition is improved. Freeman Dye made a trip to Salt Lake City last Saturday to bring back his wife, who is recovering re-covering from a recent operation. opera-tion. Their daughter, LaVoun, returned with them to spend a week at her home here. Mr. Chivers, of Vernal, spent a few days here last week at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr and Mrs. EIRay Duncan. Mrs. Duncan and two sons returned to Vernal with him last Sunday, and spent the fore part of the week visiting relatives there. Mrs. Royal Horrocks and son, Garth, motored to Provo and Salt Lake City last week. Miss Earlene Warburton, of Lapoint, accompanied them. While in Salt Lake City, she will participate partici-pate in the FHA meeting, being held there this week. She is vice-president of the organization. organiza-tion. OUTDOOR SUPPER Members of the Blazer class in Primary enjoyed an outdoor supper at the park last Wednesday Wednes-day evening. Each boy cooked his own meal of roasted corn, potatoes and weiners. Buns, salad sal-ad and marshmallows were furnished fur-nished by the teacher, Flora Wilson. In attendance were Ronnie Ron-nie Larsen, Gary LaRose, Mor-den Mor-den Spencer, Rowel Henrie, Jay Mitchell, Ned Anderton. Primary Pri-mary president, Irene Henrie, was a special guest. Mr. and Mrs. John Keel and daughter, Sharon, attended the Keel family reunion which was held last Sunday at Vivian Park in Provo Canyon. TEACHERS HONOR SUNDAY SCHOOL GROUP Sunday School classes of Lee Jensen and Irene Henrie were entertained by their teachers teachers last Monday evening. A corn roast at the ball park was followed by a showing of films from the "Life of Christ" at the ward chapel. Those present pres-ent were Elaine Smithson, Kay Bastian, Pauline Anderton, Ros-anne Ros-anne Olsen, Judy Bastian, Helen Hel-en Anderton, Roxanne Gardner, Gordon Peterson, Larry LaRose, Gerald Dye and Allan Wardle. I Alden White, of the Roosevelt stake high council, visited the local Sunday School last Sunday. Sun-day. Members of the local 4-H clubs furnished most of the program pro-gram last Sunday evening. Speakers from the organization were: Rosanne Olsen and Faith Dye. Sharon Keel gave an accordion ac-cordion solo, and the opening arid closing songs of the meeting meet-ing were sung by the group. Additional Ad-ditional short talks were given by Don Horrocks and Evan Olsen. Ol-sen. Two changes were effected last Sunday in teachers of auxiliary aux-iliary organization in the ward. Deatha Olsen will replace Lois Leavitt as teacher of the Seagull Sea-gull group in Primary. Neil Jensen will assume the duties of teacher in the Special Interest Inter-est class in MIA, replacing Amanda Henrie, who has accepted ac-cepted the position of secretary secre-tary in the Genealogical class of the ward. Mr., and Mrs. Marvin Mitchell and son, Carl, of Midvale, spent Sunday visiting here at the Arthur Ar-thur Mitchell and Dudley Bur-son Bur-son homes. Mrs. Nell Beaney and two daughters came with them and will remain here to visit for a while. |
