Y. High in Provo. Supt. Stutz lias Long Line Of School Activity A pleasant and friendly school administrator is Rowan C. Stutz, who over a month ago was appointed superintendent of the Duchesne County School District, and immediately took over his duties. In a brief interview, in-terview, Tuesday, Mr. Stutz assured as-sured representatives of the local lo-cal press that he was very happy hap-py in his new position and predicted pre-dicted a fine year in the schools of the county. A native of Cardson, Alberta, Canada, where he was born Sept. 25, 1916, he attended elementary ele-mentary and high school at Cardson and graduated from Calgary Normal School in 1937. He received a B. S. regree from the Brigham Young Universjty in 1948, and in 1951 was awarded award-ed his Masters from the "Y." His teaching and administrative administra-tive experiences include 8 years as teacher and 3 years as principal prin-cipal in the schools of Alberta, (Continued on Back Page) Rowan Stutz . . . He left Monroe to accept the superintendency of the Wasatch School District and served from 1950 to 1952, when he was appointed principal princi-pal of the Brigham Young University Uni-versity Secondary Training School (BY High) at Provo, the position he resigned from to become be-come Duchesne County superintendent. superin-tendent. Mr. Stutz was married to Gladys Olsen in the Cardson LDS Temple in 1938, and they are the parents of eight children, child-ren, four boys and four girls: Gail, 15; Gary, 12; Ronald, 10; Douglas, 8; Linda Mae and Lau-ral Lau-ral Rae, 7, twins; Clara Dee, 3; and Brent Lee, 3 months. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints, Mr. Stutz holds the office of Seventy in the Mel-chizedek Mel-chizedek priesthood, and has been active in M.I.A. and Sunday Sun-day School work in stake and ward positions. He has also held membership in the Chamber of Commerce and Lions. |
