Mrs. Alvin Bowden, of Vernal, Uintah Basin District chairman of the department of international relations, was introduced, in-troduced, and her concise presentation pres-entation of this country's international inter-national relations in the world today was most interesting. The group was inspired and left with the challenge to make the efforts ef-forts of peaceful relations begin be-gin with individual action. Mrs. Roy Showalter. Uintah Basin District president of the Utah Federation of Women's clubs, was also a guest and talked briefly on the Echo Park Dam controversy. Both she and Mrs. Bowden spoke concerning the Uintah Service Association, which has been organized to serve as a link between the servicemen ser-vicemen of Uintah county and the folks at home. A monthly news bulletin is published and mailed to each individual from the Basin in the armed service, with the contribution of various clubs and organizations responsible respon-sible for the cost of one month's publication. Mrs. J. P. Alsberg and Mrs. Stanley Nebeker served lovely refreshments to members and guests at the close of the evening. |
