Show American Legion, Auxiliary Stage Five-Point Party If the ladies in Roosevelt are wondering what to do about that new Easter bonnet, they could have gotten many an idea had they been present at the American Legion and Auxiliary Five-Point party held Saturday. March 10, a-t the Roosevelt Legion Le-gion hall for Legion and Auxiliary Aux-iliary members and their partners part-ners from Jensen, Vernal, Myton, My-ton, Duchesne, Altonah and Roosevelt. Auxiliary members, wearing everything from miniature minia-ture light poles to tiny gas stations sta-tions (depending on their husband's hus-band's occupations) showed up in milinery of their own creation. crea-tion. Dale Ashby, who acted as master of ceremonies, started off the gala evening with a program pro-gram which featured numbers by Ruth Redmond's dancing class and included a military number by Helene Hancock, and a song and dance presentation presen-tation by Linda Schmiett, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. B e n n i e Schmiett. Two self-accompanied songs by Mrs. Carol Gardner completed the program. Following an evening of dancing, danc-ing, a delicious buffet supper was. served at midnight to 135 guests. An attractively decorated decor-ated table, covered with a white linen table cloth and centered with a 3-tier cake frosted in red, white and blue, topped with a miniature American flag and miniature Legion flag! and the inscription "Happy Birthday, Legion," made an attractive setting. set-ting. A large punch bowl on the far corner of the table completed complet-ed the table decorations. Mrs. Alyce Aycock was chairman chair-man of the lunch, assisted by Mrs. Lora Killian, Mrs. Afton Lambert, Mrs. Leah Allred, Mrs Mary Burgess, -Mrs. Erma Sutteer, Mrs. Bliss ' Eldredge, Mrs. Sylvia Oberhansley, Mrs. Verda Nelson and Mrs. Norma Bellon. Bill Sutteer, Roy Hall and Mrs. Clista Angus were in charge of program arrangements. |
