Show Supt, Rowan Stutz flakes 6-Klonth Report To Board In hisv mid-year report to the Duchesne County Board of Education, Educa-tion, Supt. Rowan C. Stutz covers six months of activity in the district. dis-trict. He states that the teaching staff this year consists of 90 persons, per-sons, nine of which are teaching principals; 75 are full time teachers teach-ers and six are' one-half day teachers. teach-ers. Four of the one-half day teachers are teaching kindergarten. Of these ' 90 teachers, 23 were' not teaching in the Duchesne County School District last year; 18 of these 23 had not been employed em-ployed previously in this district. Seventeen of the new employees are replacements' to the staff, while the remaining seven are additions', ad-ditions', because of the kindergarten kindergar-ten and library programs. Based on the 84 teachers employed em-ployed last year, teacher turnover in this district this year was 20 per cent, which is almost identical with the teacher turnover the year previous, the superintendent said. Tabiona suffered an 80 per cent turnover this year while Neola retained re-tained all of its staff. Teachers continued to improve' their professional qualifications during the year. Prior to the Sept. 1 deadline, the returning teachers had presented a total of 451 quarter quar-ter hours of college credit. A breakdown of the teaching staff as to cerification status is shown by the superintendent as 59 certified, certi-fied, three' with degree but no certificates', cer-tificates', 28 other non-certified. |
