Show Total Bounties Paid Equal $374 One bounty claim was filed in January in Duchesne County. This was by Charles H. Bird, Bluebell, for one bobcat. Tcta! bounty payments approved in this county during 1955 was $374. This was for one cougar, $20. paid to Clarence Baum, of Strawberry; for one coyote at $6; for $87 bobcats at $4. The drop of bounty on coyotes from $6 to $5 was effective Aug. 1. In 1954, bounty payments for this county totaled $998, and were for nine coyotes, $54 total; 164 bobcats, $874 total; two cougars, $70 total. During the fore part of the year in 1954, bounty payments were dropped from $6 to $4 on bobcats and from $35 to $20 on cougars. In comparison, the claims in 1947 were for 4 cougars, 25 bobcats bob-cats and 474 coyotes. A lO-mill. levy on turkeys and a 30-mill levy on sheep provide the money paid in bounties. After the claims are approved by two members of the Predatory Animal Control Board for the county, certificates, claims on pay, are' presented to the county clerk, who makes out a receipt and sends a copy of each to the State Department De-partment of Agriculture.
