Show Eight Ms lake On-The-Farm Training Course Eight veterans of the Korean War comprise the Veterans' on-thefarm on-thefarm Training Class in Duchesne Du-chesne County, reports Supt. Rowan Row-an C. Stutz. of the Duchesne County School District. This class, held at the Altamont High School, is instructed by Charles E. Edwards Ed-wards of Roosevelt. Enrollees in this training program pro-gram are Lawrence Justice and Bernard Hadden, Myton; Marvin Sorensen, Talmage; Laver Morris, David Farnsworth and Glenn Mecham, Mtn. Home; Glenn Jenkins, Jen-kins, Ioka, and Glenn Kurtz, of Roosevelt. Supt. Stutz says if the membership member-ship in this program drops to six in the county, classes will be discontinued. dis-continued. Veterans pay tuition of $41.50 a month to the Duchesne County School' District for this course in how to improve farming practices. The veteran receives this tuition money through federal veteran benefits. The instructor's salary is on a sliding scale basis in line with the number of enrollees, the superintendent explained. Classes are held each Saturday during the winter months. Field trips are made during other seasons' sea-sons' as a part of the instruction in modern farm practices. Work shop instruction is given in the agriculture department at the Altamont Al-tamont High School. |
