Show VJMTEROCKS Madeena Smith FAMILY DINNER Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Morrill attended at-tended a family dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Daris Morrill Mor-rill at Tridell, Sunday. The dinner was in honor of Lyle Morrill. He is returning to the Navy again. The seventh and eighth grades went to Union Friday to watch the football game between Union and Uintah. Elbert Smith drove bus for Paul Roberts this week. Leland Moosman and Eldon An-derton An-derton are home from the mountains, moun-tains, where they have been working work-ing on the road. Duane Oberhansly is home from the hospital, where he was treated for pneumonia. He was in the Vernal Ver-nal Hospital. Miss Betty Moosman was home visiting her folks a few days last week. Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Smith and Bishop Gilbert Ellingford attended conference in Salt Lake. They left Saturday' morning and returned Sunday night. Mrs. Smith took the bus at Provo for Long Beach, California, Cal-ifornia, where she is going to spend a few weeks with her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. LaDeena Christensen, who has a new baby. Mr. and Mrs. Petro Forakis were here visiting Mrs. Forakis's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Hoops. A group from our ward attended attend-ed the dance at Victory Park Saturday Sat-urday night. They were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hoops, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon El-don Anderton and Mr. and Mrs. Loren Pike. Mr. Hoops took tickets at the door. Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Burton spent Sunday afternoon visiting Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Murray. visited at the home of their son Wanless, in Bridgeland, Sunday' While there they listened to conference. con-ference. FARMERETTE CLUB MEETS Wednesday evening, the Farmerette Farmer-ette Club held their monthly meeting meet-ing at the church house. Naomi Gilbert demonstrated the use of paper mache in home decoration, she also showed some of her work done in ceramic and oil paintings. Eighteen members were present. Refreshments were served. Marv Bell, Thorn M. Gilbert Le-Grande Le-Grande Gilbert and Bill Tanner have installed new milk tanks. Beginning Be-ginning Monday morning the truck came in to start picking up the milk from the modern dairy farms. Mrs. Arch Larsen has been ill, but is better at this writing. We were sorry to see Mr. and Mrs. Charley Jensen leave our community., Charley, Golda and their son, Kent, have been active in community and church affairs. We wish them happiness and success suc-cess in their employment at the Utah Training School in American Fork. Attending the general conference in Salt Lake City were, President and Mrs. Hale Holgate, Bishop Gam Gilbert and John Gilbert. Pauline Larsen and Milton Poul-son Poul-son were visiting in Vernal Sunday. Sun-day. FAREWELL PARTY HELD Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bird and family were officially bid adieu Tuesday evening at a farewell party par-ty held in conjunction with the opening MIA social. Mrs. Lois Terpening, Young Women's president, presi-dent, conducted. Games and dancing dan-cing were enjoyed, under the direction di-rection of Rulon Gilbert and Don na Ross, MIA activity counselors. A program and refreshments were enjoyed by a large crowd. The Bird family was presented a beautiful beau-tiful mantle clock from the ward as a token of remembrance. Supt. Mitchell, Renon Christensen, Mrs. Granger, Mr. Humphreys and Mr. Pendleton, stake offices were in -attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Peel, of Al-tamont, Al-tamont, visited at the home of Mrs. Peel's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Lusty, Sunday. Mrs. Gladys Capson was a Salt Lake visitor Friday and Saturday. She attended Relief Society conference con-ference and visited relatives. Mr. Capson, who is employed in Salt Lake, brought his wife home Saturday, Sat-urday, returning to his work, Sunday. Sun-day. Accompanying the Capsons home were Mrs. Gwen Bodily and small son, Merrill who will visit at the home of Mrs. Bodily's mother, Mrs. Merle Ross. Some of the farmers have even worked nights trying to get their corn in before it freezes more. RELIEF SOCIETY YEAR BEGINS WITH SHOWER Tne opening social of the Relief Society was held Wednesday. A shower was given by the members for their new kitchen. Many needed need-ed utensils were received. Also honored was the outgoing president, presi-dent, Golda Jensen, who was leaving leav-ing the ward. She was presented a gift by the Relief Society. Rose Gilbert, Mrs. Lydia Nielson and Mrs. Athemia Logan, of Myton, were present. Word was received from Warden, War-den, Washington that Mrs. John Zirker is again in the hospital. We surely hope to hear of her recovery recov-ery soon. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Scholes and boys have been visiting at the Milt Larsen home. Rae has been helping help-ing Milt get his corn harvested. |
