Friday's contest was simply too much 'Union' line as Coach Ted Heath's Cougars stopped the Ute single wing formation in their tracks every time they tried to make yardage through the line. The fact that Uintah failed to mate a single first down for three quarters indicates how that Union forward wall held the Utes. It wasn't until the opening of the fourth quarter that Uintah's new coach, Leo Conk, opened up with a series of single and double reverse re-verse plays, was his team able to make enough yardage for a first down, and they piled up five as they made their only threat to score during the game.
