Show Former F3ayor Of Provo Is fkw District 4 Judge Maurice Harding, Provo attorney and former mayor, Saturday was named by Gov. J. Bracken Lee as judge in Fourth Judicial District, filling the vacancy left by the recent re-cent death of Judge William Stanley Stan-ley Dunford. The gubernatorial appointment runs until' the 1956 general election, elec-tion, at which the four remaining years of the unexpired term will be on the non-partisan judicial ballot. ' The new judge served as Provo city commissioner some years ago and later was mayor of the city he was admitted to the Utah State Bar on March 31, 1924. He now serves as one of the six examiners and one of seven commissioners com-missioners of the Utah State Bar. He is an attorney in Provo and was a Provo city judge from 1929 to 1933. Judge Harding attended Provo city schools and is a graduate of Brigham Young University. He served in the field and coast artillery artil-lery during World War I. |
