DEDICATED TO EXPAND EDUCATION The new Altamont High School building was dedicated dedi-cated to the expansion of education in the Altamont area at appropriate exercises held Wednesday, Sept. 28. The dedicatory prayer was given by E. L. Murphy, veteran school board member, and former for-mer president of the Moon Lake LDS stake. Elmer J. Hartvisgen, assistant state superintendent, gave the major address and presented the building to Principal Rondo Harmon, who accepted it on behalf of the school faculty. City Parking Ordinance To Oe Enforced, for Sure Warning Ticket First, Then Come The Works Several matters of business were considered by the Roosevelt city council at their regular semimonthly semi-monthly meeting Monday night, among which was the positive decision de-cision to make another attempt to enforce the two-hour parking in the business section of Roosevelt. Several announcements in the past through the Standard of enforcing the ordinance affecting 2-hour parking, have not been followed through and little or nothing has been done to enforce the issue. Warning Ticket First Mayor Paul Murphy made the following statement Wednesday regarding re-garding the parking . situation, which in the past has been abused mostly by business people and their employees: "We aren't fooling fool-ing this time, our two-hour parking ordinance is going to be enforced. No Action On UBIC A combined meeting between the city council and the 1955 Uintah Uin-tah Basin Industrial Convention committee Monday, failed to come up with a new president and other officers. Several names were proposed pro-posed to head the 1956 UBIC, but no appointments were considered until after the potential president candidates had been contacted. Mayor Murphy and L. F. Hutch-ings, Hutch-ings, retiring president, were to contact the possible candidates. Another item of business was the acceptance of the resignation of Rex Cook from the police department. de-partment.
