Show 6,000 Tax Notices Go To County Property Owners Treasurer Break-Down Break-Down Shows Where Funds Come Duchesne County tax notices for 1955 were mailed this week, reports re-ports Leland Wright, county treasurer. treas-urer. The last of the 6,000 notices were mailed 60 days prior to the deadline for payment of the 1955 tax bill, Mr. Wright said. This year the county treasurer is charged with the collection of $461,077.53 in taxes computed on a total assessed evaluation of $8,-078,735. $8,-078,735. Where Funds Come From By taxing units, this tax bill' figures $31,004.92 for Duchesne, computed on a $404,500 assessed evaluation; $9,231.99 for Myton, computed on a $115,907 assessed evaluation;. $106,483.70 for Roosevelt, Roose-velt, on a $1,371,329 assessed evaluation; $3,721.03 for Altamont, on a $59,394 assessed evaluation; $1,999.20 for Tabiona, on a $34,-087 $34,-087 assessed evaluation. On an asssessed evaluation of $6,093,518 for property located outside out-side of the corporate limits, of cities and towns in this county, taxes amounted to $308,636.69. The unpaid 1955 taxes become delinquent at noon, November 30. From December 1 to December 30, unpaid taxes are subject to a 2 penalty plus $1.00 advertising on each tax notice. After January 1, -interest at 8 is added to these costs; and after January 10th, a sale fee of 500 is included in the tax bill, Mr. Wright explained. If the "pay by mail" method is more convenient, Mr. Wright explains, ex-plains, that the remittance should be enclosed with the tax notice or notices and mailed to the Duchesne Du-chesne County Treasurer. These tax notices will be receipted and returned to the taxpayer by mail at an early date. |
