Show Ballard Ellen Bracken Miss JoAnn Todd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russel Todd left Sunday for Kansas City, Mo with 23 other Utah girls, to attend at-tend the second national convention con-vention of the Future Home-makers Home-makers of America June 28-July 28-July 1. Jo Ann was chosen song leader of the Utah group. Mr. and Mrs. John Taylor, who have been residing at the Hadlock farm, are moving to Tabiona. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Jackson of Salem, Oreg., and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Bellon and family, of Orem, visited last week with their father, Dorson Long. The baby of Mrs. Milton La-Rose La-Rose suffered a serious head injury in-jury last week when it fell from its bed. Rushed to Salt Lake City, the baby was operated on, and is now recovering. Lynn Bracken, son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bracken, returned June 22 from a trip to lone, Calif., where he visited his sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Lynn Campbell and family, and his brother, Guy. Lynn White, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alden D. White, left recently re-cently to participate in the national na-tional Scout Jamboree at Valley Forge, Pa. Lynn was the only Scout from Ballard to make the trip. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Hadlock went to ilko, Nev., last week with friends. The small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mecham cut one of her legs seriously last week. Several stitches were necessary ne-cessary to close the wound. Earl Gardner spent several days last week in Salt Lake. Mrs. Myrtle Gardner gave a pink and blue shower June 21, for Mrs. lone Tippets. Present were the Mrs. Effie Winn, Erna Stolla, Anna Johnson, Paula Winn, Marjorie Clingler, Jean Brisbin and Ellen Bracken. Vel-ma Vel-ma Winn assisted Mrs. Gardner. Gard-ner. M.r. and Mrs. Jerry Hatch and family and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hatch, of Salt Lake City, spent Father's Day with the Nathan Na-than Chivers, of Vernal. Mr. and Mrs. Q. Sorenson and daughters, of Emery, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Larsen, of Arcadia, Arca-dia, visited recently with Mr. and Mrs. Angus Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Ned Gines and family have moved into the old Angus home. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Larsen and family, accompanied by Ensign En-sign Clark, made a trip to Salt Lake City during the week. Edwin Olds, of Tillinock, Oregon, Or-egon, is visiting his sister, Mrs. LeRoy Anderson. He will remain re-main here for the summer. M,r. and Mrs. Harden Labrum ' and family, of Arcadia, visited I Sunday at the Angus Anderson I home. ) Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Bing- ham and family, of Vernal, vis ited Wednesday with the Chas. Bingham family. Mrs. Farrel Rasmussen accompanied accom-panied her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rasmussen, Ras-mussen, through the Salt Lake temple, Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Seeley and Devon Seeley, of Salt Lake visited here over the weekend. Mr- and Mrs. Henry Loran-ger, Loran-ger, of Montwel, visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Coston. Mrs. Arthur Wiscombe visited recently in Provo with Mr. and Mrs. Erold Wiscombe, parents of a new baby boy. Mrs. Mont Pouson and daughters, daugh-ters, Elaine and JoAnn, of Duchesne, Du-chesne, visited Wednesday with Mrs. Geo. Bracken. ' Mrs. Pearl Jenkins accompanied accom-panied her son, Junior to Salt Lake City June 18 for an extended ex-tended visit. Altonah Mrs. Elhel Beebe Mr. and Mrs. George Berrett, Sr. and son, Bob, of Murray, visited here last weekend with relatives. Mrs. Junior Potts and daughter daugh-ter are staying with her mother Mrs. Elva Snyder, while Mr. Potts attends summer school in Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Arvcl Stone and sons, of Duchesne, visited Thursday Thurs-day with Mrs. Stone's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Smith. Mrs. E. M. Mohlman spent a few days in Salt Lake during the week, accompanying Mr. and Mrs. Ferrill Mahlman, who took their small son in for medical med-ical care. James Weeks was released Monday from the LDS hospital in Salt Lake where he was taken tak-en following a car accident, June 11. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Elliott and grandson, Leon Elliott, of Fremont, and Mrs. Lawell Jensen Jen-sen and Mrs. Ella Jessen, of Emery, visited during the weekend week-end with Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Maxfield. The ladies are Mr. Maxfield's sisters. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Murray, of Murray, spent a couple of day here last week. Willis Potter and Claude McDonald, Mc-Donald, high councilmen, of Tal- mage, spoke Sunday at Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting. The American Legion Auxiliary Aux-iliary entertained Saturday at a luncheon at the home of Mrs. Emma Anderson, in compliment to Mrs. Ruth M. Bott, of Logan, department president of the American Legion Auxiliary of Utah. Present were Mrs. Lola Jones, Mrs. Alora Kolb, Mrs. Mary Carroll, Mrs. Dora Berd, Mrs. Maxine Clark, Mrs. Clara Rochel, Mrs. Myrtle Fowler and Mrs. Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Von Timothy and sons, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Richens and family, of Bonanza, spent the weekend here with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Jewel Kolb spent the week end here with his brother, Ty, and family. Bishop Lester Maxfield and Ed Davis attended a genealogy meeting Sunday at Mt. Emmons. James Leonakis spent Monday in Salt Lake City. La Vern Paulson and Jena Lee Keel, of Provo, visited last week with Mrs. Ida Woodard. John Barnes and Jack Cole, of Ogden, spent the weekend with their uncle and aunt, Mr, and Mrs. Ed Olsen. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Potts; and family, of Upalco, spent Sunday with the Leo Pages. |
