Show fVJcCune Urges Kiwanians Observe 3-Fold Objectives The chief objectives of the newly organized Roosevelt Ki-wanis Ki-wanis club should "Be (1) living up to the Golden Rule, (2) service ser-vice to youth and community, and (3) the promotion of world peace, Herman W. McCune, of Nephi, Kiwanis district governor, gover-nor, told approximately 150 guests Saturday night at the Roosevelt Kiwanis club's charter char-ter banquet. He urged that the club exert ex-ert itself in service to youth and community, protection of the free enterprise system, and support of the United Nations. He then presented the club s charter to President J. D. Walker, after which LeRoy J. Olsen, lieutenant governor, presented pre-sented gifts, an American and Canadian flag, symbolizing the existence of Kiwanis in the two countries and a brief-case, to Secretary Glenn Stone. Mr. McCune also presented a ribbon to Claube Banks, of the Vernal Chamber of Commerce, Com-merce, in recognition of the Vernal Kiwanis club's sponsorship sponsor-ship of the Roosevelt group. |
