Show Wool Support Prices Announced The U. S. Department of Agriculture Ag-riculture has announced price schedules for buying and selling sell-ing wool under the 1950 support program. As yet, no wool has been purchased pur-chased under the 1950 program and very little wool purchased by the Commodity Credit Corporation Cor-poration in the recent past remain re-main in CCC stocks.x The announced national average av-erage support level is 45.2 cents per pound, in the grease, which is 90 per cent of parity. The Agricultural Act of 1949 requires re-quires that wool be supported at levels between 60 and 90 per cent of parity. In general, shorn wool selling prices for the higher grades are in line with recent market prices pric-es for these grades and prices for the lower grades run about fice cents per pound clean basis bas-is over the purchase prices. |
