Show Tentative Pians Completed For UBEC Celebration Tentative plans for a gigantic U. B. I. C. program were announced an-nounced Monday night by the U.B.I.C. committee, according to E. Floyd Ross, publicity chairman. chair-man. This year's program will include in-clude extensive educational and entertainment events. Featured will be general assembly as-sembly programs both days, August 10-11, at which notable guests will speak, and evening programs devoted to discussions of water resources and development develop-ment of the Uintah Basin, Aug. 10, and guest speakers and a talent show, Aug. 11. Two departmental work sessions ses-sions will be held daily. For ladies the discussions will center around (1) nutrition, a balanced diet through utilization of resources; re-sources; (2) clothing, what's new in dress-making and in the use of fabrics, etc.; and (3) child development through music, literature, lit-erature, etc. The men will devote themselves them-selves to beef and dairy production, produc-tion, pastures, seed production, sheep production, first aid for livestock, and Basin natural resources, re-sources, while teen-agers will present a Scout program. There will be general work sessions for boys and girls on hobbies, social dancing, and organized or-ganized recreation, and for small children, supervised play grounds. All departmental work will be under the direction of the Utah State Extension service. Talent contests are planned during the next few weeks throughout the area to select finalists for the U.B.I.C. talent show program. If these contests are not held by any of the various var-ious groups, finalists may be named to represent them. The tentative program for the two days: August 10 Scouts, 6 a.m.; parade, 9; general assembly, 10; departmental work, 11; lunch and concert, 12 noon; departmental depart-mental work, 1 p.m.; general recreation, re-creation, 3; dinner and recess, 5; evening program, water resources re-sources and development of Uintah Basin, 7:30; and dance and show for children, 9:30. August 11 Scouts, 6 a.m.; band parade, 9; general assembly, assem-bly, 9:30; departmental work, 11; lunch and concert, 12 noon; departmental work, 1 p.m.; general gen-eral recreation, 3; dinner and recess, 5; evening program and talent show, 7:30; and a dance and show for children, 9:30. |
