Show Democrat Primary Line-Dp To Be Settled Saturday Positions on the county Democratic Dem-ocratic primary ballot for four-and four-and two - year commissioners, sheriff, recorder, and assessor will be contested Saturday at the Democratic convention in Duchesne, according- to Bennie Schmiett, county chairman. In the race for four-year commissioner com-missioner are Linden Hansen, Altonah; Floyd Case, Mt. Emmons; Em-mons; and S. H. Freston, Roosevelt; Roos-evelt; two - year commissioner, William H. Crozier, Roosevelt; Ray Brown, Montwel; A. M. Burton, Talmage; and Clem La-brum, La-brum, Roosevelt; for sheriff, Arzy Mitchell, Duchesne; Sher man Anderson and Jack McAr-thur, McAr-thur, Roosevelt; recorder, Helen Odekirk, Grant Murdock, Duchesne; Du-chesne; and Thelma H. Roberts, Roosevelt; assessor, Edward W. Crosby, Mt. Emmons; German B. Workman, Roosevelt; and Edwin Carman, Duchesne. In all cases filing candidates will be eliminated to two for each position. po-sition. The rest of the Democratic ticket has a clear field ahead, with no opposition before the primary Florence Poulson, Duchesne, Du-chesne, treasurer; Porter L. Merrell, Duchesne, clerk; James R. Hall and Dallas F. Young, Roosevelt, attorney; John P. Madsen, Duchesne, and Daniel F. Mitchell, Neola, state representative; repre-sentative; Joseph H. Harrison, justice of the peace, Roosevelt precinct. The convention's keynote speaker will be District Judge William Stanley Dunford. Mrs. Vola J. Hancock, Roosevelt, will furnish musical selections. Chairman Schmiett urges all delegates to attend the convention, conven-tion, which will open promptly at 2 p. m. at the Duchesne high school. |
