Show 3V2 Says IMhvm For Pheasant Hunt, ISov. 3 - 8 Utah pheasant shooters will have a little longer to' hunt for i the popular bird this year with a straight three-and-a-half, day season decreed by the State Fish and Game Commission. Opening date will be noon, Saturday, Nov. 3, and will continue con-tinue with all-day shooting Nov. 4, 5 and 6. Limit this year will be three birds a day with a maximum max-imum of six birds. All counties, except Kane county, will be open and will have the same regulations. Fish and Game Department officals told the Commission that the pheasant hatch this year was the best it had been in a number num-ber of years and also pointed out that some 17,800 birds had been planted all over the State during the past year. With this announcement the Commission set the dates for the quail season. This year it will run on the same days as the pheasant season, but Box Elder, Iron and Tooele counties will be closed. The limit is eight birds per day, or 16 in possession. The extra day on the end of i the pheasant season, (actually the current season is only a half r'ay longer than last year's split season), is not expected to damage dam-age the pheasant crop materials-Experts say that the life of a pheasant, under normal circumstances, circum-stances, is only 19 months, so the best plan for ' a fish and game commission to follow is , to attempt to harvest a full crop, it was reported at the Commission Commis-sion moeting. |
