Show Hit CutmciiJ Gayle Case Ancient America Is Subject Of MIA Program The ward M.I.A. conducted an interesting and unusual program at its regular meeting Tuesday evening, October 2. Gayle Case told the story of Columbus and also related the Book of Mormon Mor-mon prophesy concerning the discovery of America. The remaining re-maining numbers were rendered by Indian members of the ward, as follows: Talk and piano solo, Mrs. La-Rena La-Rena Iorg; Indian legend, Mrs. Lois LaRose; two vocal solos by Ellen and Judy Montez with guitar accompaniment by Ellen. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Bennion had charge of the program. RELIEF SOCIETY The Relief Society held its opening social Tuesday. October 2. A program and lunch were enjoyed by the members. Officers for the current sea-soon sea-soon are Mrs. Etta Crosby, president; presi-dent; Mrs. Fern Powell, first counselor; Mrs. Rosabelle Ames, second counselor; and Mrs. Pearl Case, secretary. Mrs. Kelly Sprouse and two children, of Roosevelt, are staying stay-ing with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Case, while Kelly is on an elk hunt in the Manti district. dis-trict. DISEASE AMONG CATTLE Disease appeared among some of the cattle in this locality last week causing loss in a few herds. The disease, new to this area, was diagnosed as shipping fever. Nearly every farmer has vaccinated vac-cinated his stock since word of the disease got around. Mrs. Eliza Olsen, Mrs. Mary A. Case and Mrs. Mary C. Sny-' Sny-' der were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Case, in Vernal. |
