Show Korean Veteran's Funeral Held Here Wednesday Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Wednesday morning for Pvt. Manuel Lucero, 19, a Korean Ko-rean war veteran, whose body was escorted to Roosevelt for burial by Cpl. Richard W. De-Witt, De-Witt, of Oakland California. Pvt. Lucero was born June 26, 1931 at Dragon, Utah, a son of Clarence and Rose Lucero. He attended the elementary school at Fort Duchesne and graduated from Alterra high school. He enlisted in the army in July, 1948, at Fort Douglas." He had been in Korea only 12 days prior to his death. Requiem mass was held Wednesday at 10 a. m. for Pvt. Lucero at St. Helen's Catholic church, officiated at by Rev. Stancar. Military rites were con- ' ducted at the grave by the American Legion, Basin Post 64, and burial in the Randlett cemetery was under the direction direc-tion of the Dillman Mortuary, Roosevelt. Surviving besides his parents are two brothers in the U. S. Army. Fred at Fort Camel, Kentucky, and Vernon at Fort Miles, Maryland; a brother at home, Pete; and three sisters, Barbarita, Juanita and Elaine. |
