C. . were home a few days before registering register-ing for the spring quarter. About town were Nancy Rockwood, Diane Nelson, Lynn Alexander, Norman Hanson, Dorothy Dean Nixon, Douglas White', Nadine Ottosen from the BYU; Albert Col-lotzi, Col-lotzi, Dale Larsen, Dick Weiss, and Gwennita Curry from the "U;" and Pat Gines and Kenneth and Janice Anderton from the USAC. If we've' missed any it's because we just didn't know about them and our sincere apologies. Many of the ardent basketball fans in Roosevelt attended the Class "B" tournament held in Provo last week. Alc Ralph D. Johnstun arrived Thursday for a 30-day furlough. He has been stationed in the' Philippines Phil-ippines for the past 18 months as a radio operator. He is visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Johnstun. Upon" expiration of his furlough, he will report to the March Air r-orce '.Base in Riverside, Calif., for more radio training. . Mr. and Mrs. Kay Edrington of Provo spent a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ruel Edrington. Ed-rington. The latter spent the weekend week-end in Salt Lake City. Visiting in Roosevelt last weekend week-end were Mr. and Mrs. Pat Roberts Rob-erts and family of Salt Lake City, former local residents. Mrs. Roberts' Rob-erts' mother, Mrs- Margaret Fenn, returned to Roosevelt with them after spending the winter in Salt Lake City visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Earl McKenna and baby of Provo enjoyed the weekend with the Gilbert McKen-nas McKen-nas and the Russel Todds. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene' J. Swenson and children, Jimmy and Ann, of Cleveland, Ohio,, stopped at the John Swenson residence Monday night enroute to their home after attending the funeral services of Mrs. Swenson's mother in Mesa, Arizona. John and Eugene are brothers. Enjoying the weekend at the J. C. Crow residence were their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Kerr and children of Rock River, Wyoming. Mr. and Mrs, Ray Crow and daughter, Sheryl, left Tuesday for Riverton, Wyoming, where' they will make their home. Visiting at the Harold Eldredge home last weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Gene' C. Powell of Provo and Miss Eva Eldredge of Salt Lake City. Mr. Eldredge attended a hospital meeting in Salt Lake City Wednesday. Wed-nesday. James F. Woodward of Kays-vill.e-. Utah, has been visiting his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Richman, and also his son, Orville Woodward. Salt Lake City business callers Monday were Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Richman. Mr. and Mrs Owen F. Burgener were Price visitors last weekend, where they visited with their son, Robert, and family. They had a little difficulty getting home, as all their gas leaked out of their car. They had to catch a ride to Price and their son brought them home. They arrived about 2:30 a.m. Monday morning. Mrs. Bertha Herbert of Salina arrived Monday to visit with her daughter, Mrs. Dwain Buchanan, and family. Arriving Sunday to spend a few weeks at the' Rex Curry home were Mr. Curry's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs, Richard Garcia, of Gallup, New Mexico. Congratulations to the Bill Edwards Ed-wards who are rejoicing over the arrival of a new son, born Tuesday Tues-day morning at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. The new arrival tipped the scales at 8'2 lbs. His grandmother, Mrs. Homer P. Edwards, Ed-wards, was in Salt Lake for the blessed event, as well as the elated elat-ed father, who made it to the hospital hos-pital just in time. This is the second sec-ond child for the Edwards they have a little girl, Billie Gae, three years old. This. is the first arrival to carry on the Edwards' name. Mr. and Mrs. Jarry Van and children, Bruce' and Denise, arrived ar-rived Tuesday evening for a visit with Mrs. Van's mother, Mrs. Ethel Brown. Mr. Van has a two-week two-week leave from the U. S, Naval service and will report back to his base in San Francisco when he and his family leave here. Mrs. Ed Yack is recuperating from a major operation performed in the Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City last Saturday. Mr. Yack returned home Wednesday night, reporting that his wife was getting along fine and expects to return home next week. |
