Show Two Counties Will Join In Noxious Weed Meet A joint meeting of the Duchesne" County Noxious Weed Control .committee and the county commissioners commis-sioners with the Uintah County Noxious Weed Control committee and county commissioners is being be-ing planned for Saturday, March 31, 10 a.m. at the county agent's office in Roosevelt, reports Robert S. Murdock, county agent, committee' com-mittee' secretary. The meeting was planned at the March 14 meeting of the Duchesne County Noxious Weed Control committee. At this meeting, applicants for the job of spray operator were considered. After reviewal of the applicants, the committee decided to offer the position to Hyrum Jensen of Roosevelt, for the 1956 spraying season. Responsibilities listed by the committee for the spray operator included the' filing of an itinerary for work for every week with the secretary and should inform the secretary immediately im-mediately of any changes in plans; that when he is in the area of one of the district supervisors, he should contact this supervisor for information pertaining to the location loca-tion of weeds. To Spray Indian Land The supervisors discussed the contract agreement between John Zupko and the Indian Service. It was the opinion of the weed committee com-mittee that this was a very fine progressive step, as they felt with Mr. Zupko operating his own machine, ma-chine, much more weed infested area could be taken care of on both white and Indian-owned lands during the summer. (Continued from Page 1) The committee went on record as favoring the spray operator to obtain a license for spraying; that $250 a month (six days a week) be paid for the months indicated by the executive committee', plus 60 a mile on private automobile when the operator is spraying a distance from home where he feels it is not practical to drive the heavy spray truck back and forth; that the operator be paid $1.25 an hour when he is working on an hourly basis, the time' to be determined by the executive committee. com-mittee.
