Show H Husic Department At Union lias Active Program Considerable activity is in the making for the music department at Uaion High School for the next month or so, is a report made Tuesday by Owen F. Burgener.di-rector. Burgener.di-rector. 'They will be presenting programs and participating in music meets sponsored by the Basin Activities Association. Tonight, Thursday, the band will join with other bands from the Duchesne, Tabiona and Altamont High Schools and Roosevelt Junior Jun-ior High in a massed band concert as a feature of the opening of the' fourth Annual Rural Education Conference that begins at the Altamont Al-tamont High School. Then on Monday Mon-day at 11 a.m., the mixed choruses (Continued on Back Page) UNION MUSIC DEPT. ... (Continued from page one) and string orchestra will present a program at the' Alterra school. On April 26 solos and ensembles ensem-bles from all schools in the Basin will meet at Uintah High School in Vernal for that part of the competitive program. The following follow-ing day, April 27, which is on Friday, Fri-day, bands and choruses will be hosted by Altamont High in the next phase of the musical program. Other phases of Basin Activities Activi-ties Days which includes commercial commer-cial and business contests, athletic ath-letic programs and drama and speech will be held during the spring. Drama and speech get the emphasis tomorrow at Duchesne when they meet 'at the LDS stake house to compete. |
